Joshua Creek Ranch

Joshua Creek Ranch is located on some of the finest hunt country in America and we have developed this resource into a sportsman’s paradise. The ranch is a rare combination of natural hill country beauty, outstanding accommodations, and a friendly staff who knows all about world-class wingshooting, hunting, and conferencing! Located approximately 45 minutes northwest of San Antonio, between Boerne and Kerrville, we are a full-service, 1200-acre ranch specializing in upland gamebird wingshooting for quail, pheasant, chukar, and Hungarian partridge, October through March. We also offer a world class Sporting Clays course year-round for the shooting enthusiast.

Of course, even though our core business is birds, we also offer year-round hunting for Axis deer, as well as Whitetail deer, Rio Grande turkey, and dove in season. And, we stock beautiful, spring-fed Joshua Creek with 10-inch to 14-inch Rainbow Trout for catch-and-release fly fishing! The trout grow to be as large as 21 - 22 inches during the fly fishing season. Guests can also fish the Guadalupe River for small mouth bass, black bass, Guadalupe bass (found only in this part of Texas), bluegill and catfish. There is literally something for everyone who loves to hunt, shoot, and fish!

Come summer, the ranch is available for warm weather activities from sporting clays, hiking, and biking, to kayaking, tubing, and canoeing! Guests are invited to fish or float the Guadalupe River, hike and bike the ranch’s inviting trails, and enjoy some of the tasty ranch recipes from the Main Lodge kitchen. Upon request, the kitchen staff will put together a delicious picnic, complete with a carefully selected wine to compliment the meal, all served creekside on a bright, cozy quilt. After the picnic, guests can relax by the creek in a hammock strung between gigantic cypress trees.

Evenings are enchanting at Joshua Creek Ranch with gorgeous sunsets reflected on the lake and nighttime skies spectacular for stargazing!

If you are interested in a business retreat or a conference, our meeting and dining facilities are spacious and inviting. The ranch features a unique Business and Conference program. We can tailor special programs and activities for small executive seminars, as well as group conferences. The Main Lodge has a large living room with a fireplace and a magnificent view of beautiful, spring-fed Joshua Creek and the surrounding hill country. And after business is over, we will make certain you and your guests enjoy all the ranch has to offer!

Our mission and goal is to make Joshua Creek a safe, exciting, and thoroughly rewarding experience for you -- from the activities we customize for your pleasure, to the meals we serve and the lodging in which you’ll stay!

The Safari and Gun Dog rooms are suitable for singles, groups, or families. Each room accommodates up to eight guests for a total of 16 overnight guests in the Main Lodge. Both rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable and cozy. Safari has a stone fireplace; Gun Dog has a wood burning stove. The guides will be glad to build a fire in either of these rooms at the request of the guests. Both rooms have large private baths, easy chairs and rockers, and are representative of the rustic elegance that defines Joshua Creek Ranch's accommodations.

Every evening during hunting season, a warm, inviting fire will be lit in the fireplaces of the Main Lodge Great Room and Dining Room. There will also be a fire in the stone firepit on the patio of the Main Lodge, so guests staying in Gun Dog and/or Safari certainly won't lack for the inviting glow of a fire on those brisk fall and winter nights in the Texas Hill Country!

Six rooms comprise the Long Haus -- four rooms that will sleep up to two people, and two rooms that will sleep up to four people. Four of the rooms are single or double occupancy. During hunting season the rooms' sleeping arrangements are converted to oversized twin beds. During spring and summer, we reconfigure the rooms to accommodate king-sized beds. Each room has a private bath. The rooms are decorated in themes that match their names: Antler, Bird, Cattleman, Duck, Englishman Suite, and Fly Fisherman Suite.

Englishman and Fly Fisherman suites will sleep up to four people (three adults and one child). Each side of the suite has its own lavatory. There is a shared bathroom and shower in the middle for the occupants of each side. The suites are great for families with small children. One of the sleeping accommodations in each suite is an oversized futon -- great for kids!

There are no phones or TV in the rooms in the Long Haus. However, the Long Haus has a large private sitting room with overstuffed leather couches and chairs, an oversized stone fireplace, complete sound system, TV, telephone, mini-fridge, ice machine, and coffee maker.

There is a natural flagstone patio in the front lawn of The Long Haus, with a large stone fire pit. During hunting season (fall and winter), the guides always make a fire in the stone firepit for the Long Haus guests .
